Packing for a Uganda safari is simple, but every item matters. The goal isn't to bring more, it's to bring right: cool mornings, warm afternoons, and the odd rain shower mean a light, smart bag wins.
Essentials to Bring
- Neutral, lightweight clothes: breathable cotton or linen in muted colours.
- Hat & sunglasses: the equatorial sun is strong even when it's cool.
- Sunscreen & insect repellent: both, and reapply through the day.
- Refillable water bottle: hydration is everything on game drives.
- Light rain jacket: showers can arrive quickly and pass just as fast.
- Binoculars & camera: for wildlife at a distance.
- Closed shoes: trainers or hiking shoes, not sandals.
Extra Touches
A small daypack, power bank, and a dry bag are enough for comfort. Leave a little space in your bag, travelling light just feels better on the road.
Tip: When you pack less, you see more.
